Football for Tolerance Leagues

 

The street football’s methodology represents an innovative experience regarding the approach to sports like educative tools and to promote values like tolerance, respect, solidarity, team work, participation and citizenship-

Methodology

  1. Both woman and man participates in the teams
  2. The players can go out or in, into the pitch, without limits.
  3. There is not referee but a social mediator who participates in all the game, facilitating the dialogue.

The players are who agreed the rules before the game starting. At the end, the teams must to evaluate, jointly with the mediator, the achievements of rules. Consequently, they must to put a score to their own team and the other.
Working in Neworks.

  1. National League of Street Football: more than 80 organizations from the entire country are part of the league. Almost 3 thousand young people aged 6 to 22 years old participates in the league activities. Last February 2007, the First annual National Tournament was done in the province of Rio Negro. Next tournaments will be held in different provinces. More than 200 young people attend to the first tournament, which consists of football games, artistic workshops, excursions, and a Seminary on Football as a tool to Social Transformation.

South American Network on Street Football: almost 500 organizations from Peru, Paraguay, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia and Argentina are involved in this network, with the participation of more than 8000 young people.
The First South American Tournament of Street Football organized by Defefensores del Chaco, was held in Buenos Aires City, in November 2005. Teams from the mentioned countries were there. The final game were played on 9 July Avenue jointly with other performances presented. These tournaments have held every year and are very important to work with an integral strategy and the exchange of experiences among the members.


Streetfootballworld network: is a global network with 80 organizations members from all the continents. Almost 250 thousands young people are involved and using street football as a tool to social transformation.
In 2006, the first World Tournament of Street Football was held in Berlin, in parallel with the World Cup FIFA 2006; and was recognized by FIFA as a part of the cultural and artistic official program. 24 teams and 350 people attend to the tournament. The world tournaments will be held every 4 years, according with the World Cup schedule.
